Our Verdict...

At £14.99/$29, this is the one of the cheapest headsets that Plantronics produce. But being a budget headset it does not mean that you are compromising too much on the sound quality or build quality. Its sound quality is really indistinguishable from some of the more expensive models.

The main difference between this basic model and the others is that you do not get any extra features aside from stereo speakers and a noise-cancelling microphone. This means that to control the volume you must go through your computer volume settings.

As with many of the Plantronics range the Audio 40 plugs straight into your computers sound card where the computer speakers are usually connected, rather than through a USB port. This makes the headphones very easy to install on your computer. However, this also means that you cannot use both speakers and headphones at the same time.
